How to Qualify
Grand Series of Poker will take place November 21 - 30, 2008, where we will run a series of poker tournaments, all leading towards the big main event on December 7 - the Grand Slam Final.
How do I get to the Grand Slam final?
You can qualify to the Grand Slam Final by either win a GSOP event, use the cheap daily qualifiers, go through the leaderboard or buy-in directly. Regardless of what stakes you favor for tournament play you will have multiple choices of getting an entry to the Grand Slam Final!
Qualifiers
It will run one daily qualifier to the Grand Slam Final each day during the GSOP period. These qualifiers will have a buy-in range from as little as $1 to $30. All of these will be re-buy qualifiers and guarantee one Grand Slam Final ticket worth $5,000 each.
GSOP Events
In total it will be 8 GSOP events, each holding one Grand Slam Final ticket in the prize pool handed to the winner. Besides that you will of course also finds tons of money to compete for, if the ticket itself is not enough.
Direct Buy-In
You can of course choose to buy-in directly to the Grand Slam Final. The buy-in fee is set to $5,000, making this one of the biggest online finals around.
Grand Slam Final
As the name implies, this is the grand slam final. And there's no reason for you to not join in. With an attractive high $5,000 buy-in tournament where the best of the GSOP winners and all qualifiers will meet for a final main event, the Grand Slam Final will host one of the best online poker games ever.
Grand Slam Final tickets must be used in the Grand Slam Final, they are not refundable with the exception if a player wins more than one Grand Slam Final ticket. Those extra tickets will be eligible for a refund.
Leaderboard
All players participating in the GSOP events and the Grand Tournament will be eligible for the leaderboard.
After the last GSOP event, the Grand Tournament on November 30, the top 100 players in the GSOP Leaderboard will compete for 3 tickets to the main event - the Grand Slam Final.
The 1st place of the leaderboard will receive one ticket automatically, while the 2nd to 100th place will compete in these three different segments:
1 - Will receive one Grand Slam ticket
2 To 10 - Play for one Grand Slam ticket
11 To 30 - Play for one Grand Slamticket
31 To 100 - Play for one Grand Slam ticket
The leaderboard will score towards a formula. All players that finishes in the money in each GSOP event will receive points calculated from this formula: v(buyin*entrants/position).
